History
The basic principles for infrared gas sensing are well known and proven to be very reliable but also quite expensive. To change this cost situation, SenseAir® in the early 90´s started the development of a revolutionary, simple and low-cost wave-guide technology adopted for mass production. Not only was the cost much lower than existing competitors, but the performance of the new sensor was also much better. World-wide positive recognition was quickly established and SenseAir® received several technology awards.
Since then over hundreds of thousands SenseAir® microprocessor based IR sensors have been installed all over the world by some of the leading regulator companies.
SenseAir® has paved the way for today’s state-of-the-art technology by unique technical achievements:
1993
the first maintenance free gas sensor by micro-controller
self calibration algorithms) – model 2001V
1994
the first multi-sensor calibration system for PC automated
gas sensor production
1996
the first polymer replicated and gold plated low-cost precision
measurement cell – model 2001VT™
1998
the first application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) design
targeting low-cost IR gas sensing – model family aSENSE™
2000
the first IAQ sensor with full building controls capabilities
integrated on board – model aSENSE™ –Climate Controller
SenseAir’s new direction:
CO2 Engine™
introduced in 2003, constitutes an example of
SenseAir’s new direction of development, which is:
extreme cost optimized sensors tailor-made for high volume
built-in applications in a variety of different kinds of consumer oriented products.
